‘American Idol’ Star Thrills Arena With Baby Bump Debut: ‘What the Heck is Going On?’

It was less than a month ago that country music superstar Lauren Alaina announced to the world that she was pregnant, and even more recently when the 2011 “American Idol” runner-up revealed she was having a girl, but already the baby has had her first moments on stage.

In a video posted on TikTok by Music Mayhem magazine, Alaina is shown performing on February 13 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. Opening for Rascal Flatts on the first night of the “Life is a Highway Tour,” Alaina took a moment to let the crowd in on the significance of the event.

“This is my daughter’s debut at an arena show,” Alaina said while rubbing her belly. “She’s probably like, ‘Mom, what the heck is going on? It is so loud.’”

The video also showed portions of Alaina singing “One Beer,” the song written by HARDY and featuring Alaina and Devin Dawson that, as reported by Music Row, was the first of HARDY’s solo writing efforts to reach No. 1 on the charts. Alaina gestured to her baby bump during a few relevant portions of the song, including the line, “A couple American babies raisin’ one up their self.”

Fans filled the comments section with compliments of Alaina “glowing,” “stunning” and “beautiful” as she sang, with one stating, “I can see her singing ‘like my mother does’ to her baby and that being her favorite song growing up.”

On February 15, Alaina, who competed in Season 28 of “Dancing With the Stars,” posted several pictures from the show on her Instagram page, writing, “First night of the Life Is A Highway Tour was UNREAL! Y’all know how to have a good time, Evansville. See you soon, WV!! ✨”

Her followers were quick to shower praise, with one saying, “It was such an amazing show to kick off the tour!!! I keep telling everyone it was probably the best concert I’ve been to! You are such a beautiful soul! 💖” Another fan wrote, “I’ve never seen somebody that loves being pregnant more than you. You’re gonna be a good mama girl. 🔥”

In a separate Instagram post, Alaina featured a video of herself sitting with a guitar and singing her new song, “Those Kind of Women.” The words “played the guitar on stage for the first time (in front of a casual 10K people” were written across the video, and atop the comments section, Alaina wrote, “And singing my new song all about strong women in front of a crowd full of strong women while my daughter is in my belly experiencing her first arena show.”

Fans expressed their joy over the show, one gushing, “We were there & you were amazing!! I couldn’t roll off the couch while pregnant, let alone sing & dance the way you did! You go mama!” Another follower wrote, “Literally cannot get over how amazing you were in Evansville!! I’m 24 weeks pregnant and I looked at my husband and said “I have no clue how she’s doing this right now.”
