Fans of “Summer House” are well aware that Amanda Batula is a dedicated dog mom to her precious rescue pups, Ryder and Reese. In an exclusive email interview with EntertainmentNOW, Batula opened up about her recent partnership with the pet dental treat Wellness WHIMZEES during February’s Pet Dental Health Month. She also shared if she is interested in adopting more dogs, whether her pups have met her co-star Lindsay Hubbard’s baby, Gemma, and how she and her husband, Kyle Cooke, have been supporting Paige DeSorbo.
Amanda Batula Explained How Wellness WHIMZEES Fits Into Her Dogs’ Routine
Batula decided to partner with Wellness WHIMZEES partly to highlight Pet Dental Health Month. According to Batula, the partnership “really felt like the perfect match,” as she has “been giving Wellness WHIMZEES dental treat products to Ryder and Reese since they could have them.” She said she “loves how low-maintenance it makes the dogs’ dental routine.”
“I can give a treat to Ryder and Reese each day without having to brush their teeth between every meal or snack. They fit perfectly into our routine. I’ll be going about my usual routine to ‘get unready,’ and I’m able to help them unwind, as well, wiping down their paws and giving them their daily Wellness WHIMZEES before bed,” said Batula.
She also said she felt that Pet Dental Health Month was “the perfect reason to partner up now and help other pet parents learn more about a healthy dental routine for their beloved pets.” She explained she wanted to spotlight Pet Dental Health Month because “80% of dogs, particularly smaller breeds and senior pups, have dental disease, but less than 2% of pet parents are brushing their dogs’ teeth every day.”
“I certainly know how hard that can be! Pet Dental Health Month is the perfect time to remind pet parents that a dental health routine is much more achievable than you think. When you really think about it, you wouldn’t go a day without brushing your own teeth!” said Batula.
She also said that she “never realized how much dental health plays a larger role in your pet’s overall wellbeing, considering it can impact things like their ability to chew and digestion.”
“Regular dental care, including visits to the veterinarian, are essential to keep your pets healthy and prevent those long-term complications. A dental treat like Wellness WHIMZEES is a very convenient way to practice healthier dental routines daily,” continued Batula.
Amanda Batula Shared Her Favorite Part of Being a Dog Mom
During the interview with EntertainmentNOW, Batula shared her favorite part about being a dog mom. According to Batula, her furry friends, whom she adopted in February 2022, “are the ultimate source of comfort!”
“They can sense when I am feeling overwhelmed or anxious. They bring me so much more joy,” said Batula. “There’s truly no better feeling than seeing the two of them each morning and realizing how excited they are to see you every day. I’m glad I can give them treats like Wellness WHIMZEES that not only taste great, but support their overall health and wellbeing. It makes me feel that much better as a pet parent given how much they have been there for me.”
She also shared that Cooke has “really grown into his dog dad role.”
“He grew up with a turtle so having the responsibility of a dog is very new to him. Now that we’ve had them for three years, nothing phases him anymore. He’s become a natural,” said Batula.
As for if she’s ready to adopt more dogs, Batula said she intends to wait until she and Cooke move somewhere with a yard.
“Until then, I would love to continue fostering. It’s honestly the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done,” said Batula.
Fans of Ryder and Reese may get to see the pups back on their screens! Batula said she hopes that her furry friends will appear in more episodes of “Summer House.”
“They did not make it to the house this year, but we filmed in the city with them a few times. We’re very busy on the weekends, so I’d feel bad leaving them for too long when they could be living their best life with their favorite dog sitter,” said Batula. “With so many people and potential hazards in the house, it would need to make more sense for me to bring the dogs – although everyone loves to see them.”
Amanda Batula Shared How Lindsay Hubbard Has Been Doing as a New Mom
Batula shared that her furry friends and her husband have not yet met Hubbard’s baby Gemma, whom she welcomed in December 2024.
“Kyle has yet to meet Gemma, so we’ll have to let him meet her first before the dogs do,” said Batula.
She also described Hubbard as “a natural mother.”
“It’s been incredible watching her step into the role of mother so effortlessly. She’s just happy and excited about everything and has so much love for little Gemma. That baby is extremely lucky to have Lindsay as her mother,” said Batula.
Amanda Batula Gave an Update About Paige DeSorbo
Batula also shared an update about DeSorbo, following her November 2024 breakup from “Southern Charm” star Craig Conover. Batula said DeSorbo has been keeping “herself busy” with her career.
“She’s still on her podcast tour. She’s hosting the Vanity Fair Oscars live stream soon. She’s working on some other big projects that I’ll let her share. She’s making the most of this new chapter in her life,” said Batula.
She also said that her and Cooke’s “love for Paige runs deep so checking in on her and standing up for her is the least [they] can do.”
Batula also shared that she believes it’s important to support her “Summer House” castmates because they “are a family.”
“We’ve experienced things together no one else will ever understand,” said Batula. “We’ve been with each other during our happiest and darkest moments. What we have is so special and we’re protective of it. We can’t help but support and look out for one another. People don’t realize how close we really are. These are my people, and I will always be there for them.”
