Fans of HGTV star David Bromstad could not respond quick enough with positivity to cast away the comment that started a recent Reddit thread.
On February 22, an original poster took liberties with Bromstad’s fashion sense, suggesting the host of “My Lottery Dream Home” should “stop shopping at Temu,” while calling his clothing choices and use of catchphrases “distracting.”
The responses were immediate, and overwhelmingly in defense of all things related to David Bromstad.
One respondent stated, “He’s a super nice and caring guy. Genuinely nice. There’s not enough of those in the world. Idc what he wears.”
A commenter complimented Bromstad for his ability to make everyone on his show feel comfortable, with another agreeing, saying, “I love David Bromstad. Absolutely love him. He is so kind to people who he might otherwise never hang out with, and vice versa, he’s a gift.”

There were others who admitted to not always seeing eye-to-eye with Bromstad’s outfits, but thought that he makes it work, with one saying, “I wouldn’t wear what he wears, but he absolutely pulls it off! It’s his personality that matters, and none of that is something that could be bought. Genuinely seems like a good person.”
The 51-year-old Bromstad has grown legions of fans since he won the first season of HGTV’s “Design Star” in 2006. He hosted the pilot of “My Lottery Dream Home,” which began airing in 2015, with no illusions of success, telling, as he told Watermark in a recent report, “nothing else going on.”
The show launched its 15th season in December 2024, and Bromstad said he finds its success endlessly amazing.

Fans Offer David Bromstad Support After He Longs for a Husband
Bromstad, who generally isn’t very active on social media, stirred up the hopes of his fan base with an Instagram post at the beginning of the 2025 that suggested he might be in search of a long-term relationship.
“I need a husband,” Bromstad playfully lamented in the video, quickly adding, “Actually, I don’t need a husband, I simply just want one.”
HGTV posted the video to its Instagram page, and it was flooded with responses.
One fan wrote, “Awesome! He’d better be perfect 😊” and another told Bromstad, “this is your year😘”
Another commented, “Love you and hope you find the love of your life this year ❤️🙌😍💝”
