Jax Taylor recently celebrated a major milestone after he opened up about his addiction.
“The Valley” star posted on Instagram on March 8, celebrating that he is officially 100 days sober.
“100 days down and the rest of my life to go,” Taylor wrote on Instagram.
Taylor first revealed his struggles with addiction during the March 4 episode of Bravoโs โHot Micโ podcast, explaining that this is something he’s been dealing with for over 20 years.
โI felt like this was the time to do it. We have season 2 of โThe Valleyโ coming out shortly, and I feel like sometimes because there are so many cast members, that the whole story of each person is not told fully. And I wanted to come out and talk about the struggles that Iโve been going through for a very, very long time. And I kind of wanted everyone to know this is what happened,โ Taylor explained. โI am coming out that Iโm an addict.
โI have substance issues โ primarily with cocaine. Itโs hard to say out loud,โ Taylor continued. โIโve been dealing with this on and off since I was 23, and now Iโm 45. There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where Iโd go heavy on it. I think a lot of people who watched Vanderpump Rules over the years could kind of tell that I was on something.โ
Tom Sandoval Weighs in on Jax Taylor Coming Clean to Fans
Tommaso Boddi/Getty Images for TimberlandDuring an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” on March 5, Tom Sandoval showed his support for Taylor.
Iโm so proud of him. I think thatโs so awesome. He really seems like heโs really been working on himself, for real,โ Sandoval said.
The “Vanderpump Rules” alum admitted that he and others were aware that Taylor was dealing with this while filming the popular show.
โYes, I was somewhat aware of his problems with addiction,” he added. โIโve been around him over the years, obviously.”
Lala Kent Responds to Jax Taylorโs Sobriety Announcement
Araya Diaz/Getty Images for DailyMail.comLala Kent’s sobriety journey was documented during her time on “Vanderpump Rules,” so when Taylor publicly announced his struggles with substance abuse, Kent spoke out and offered her support.
โThat is not easy to admit,โ Kent said on her March 4 Amazon Livestream. โThis is going to be his journey and his journey only, and he should be the only one to speak on it because none of us know what heโs been through in his life.โ
โNow that Jax has come out talking about his addiction, itโs a very, very delicate subject,โ she added. โSobriety for someone, itโs not one size fits all. Everyone has a different level of addiction, but addiction is addiction.โ
She wishes him โnothing but the best in his sobriety.โ
Kent also mentioned on the Amazon Livestream that she has been in a program for โsix years, four months and some change.โ
โI went to a really great meeting last night that was much needed and then Scheana [Shay] texted me about Jax,โ Kent explained. โYour heart feels broken, but thereโs so much hope in sobriety. Thatโs what Iโm feeling for him. Very, very hopeful and excited to see what his future holds if he chooses down this path. Absolutely amazing.โ
