Gabby Barrett Teases New Music & Gives Fans Glimpse Into Motherhood

Gabby Barrett is ready to give fans new music this summer.

The country music singer spoke with Country Now backstage at the ACM awards on May 8 and gave a peek into her upcoming musical releases. Barrett shared she has a new song coming out this summer.

Behind Gabby Barrett’s New Song

Barrett said she wrote her upcoming song with HARDY, Jon Nite and Zach Abend.

“I’ve been writing and kind of fleshing out what I want this next chapter of music to be,” she told Country Now. “My last country album that I released was very auto-biographical and just very– talks about the amount of life that I’ve lived quickly within the past couple of years with being married and having three kids; all the things. So this is kind of a new chapter of music. It does kind of echo “I Hope” a little bit with the sass you know.”

Although the “Pick Me Up” singer shared the song is to hit music streaming services this summer, Barrett took to her Instagram this January to tease the song “is giving ‘I Hope’ vibes”.

Full-Time Mom and Full-Time Country Star

The American Idol alum shared insight on her personal life. When asked how she manages to balance life on the road and being a full-time mom, she shared she enjoys both.

“Them [Barrett’s three children] honestly being there is really helpful. I can’t imagine doing it without them being there. That would be a lot harder and a lot more pull on the mom heart because being a mom is very important to me,” she said. “Sometimes, like what you said, sometimes they’ll be going to bed and the nanny will help put them to bed or I’ll be like, ‘what time am I done?’ And then I’m like, okay, this one’s still going to be up and then I see them in their pajamas waiting on the bus and it’s the cutest thing. And then we go put them to bed, take off my hair, take off my makeup, all the things. But it’s fun, it’s enjoyable, especially because they’re there.”

Barrett will be hitting the road next month for her “Life I’m Living Tour”.

Barrett’s husband, Cade Foehner, will be alongside her on the road as he is her lead guitar player.

“My husband, he plays lead guitar, so we are always performing together so the kids know we’ve got to get on the bus this weekend,” she told Country Now. “Mom and dad got to go sing and go perform and they love it. They’re excited about it and we’re excited too.”
