Julianne Hough is reflecting on her special journey with “Dancing With the Stars,” one that began when she was just 18 years old! Hough took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post, chronicling her experience with the popular series.
The professional dancer, now 36, went from competing on the popular series to co-hosting it in what she deems a full-circle type of situation.
Julianne Hough Reflects on Her ‘Magical’ Journey
Getty“Itโs been an incredibly magical, unpredictable, and emotional journey for anyone who has been a part of DWTS, and thatโs what makes it so special. Itโs not just about dancing, itโs about courage. Itโs about what happens when you put yourself out there, live and exposed in front of the world, but held with so much care. Weโve all been changed by it,” shares Hough in her lengthy Instagram post.
Hough is also grateful for the opportunity to grow with “Dancing With the Stars” and evolve into a completely different role while staying with the series, saying on Instagram, “I was 18 when I joined the show. Fresh out of Utah with $2000 in my pocket after training in Londonโฆ I ended up winning my first two seasons, and nowโฆ. 20 years laterโฆ Iโm co-hosting the show that quite literally raised me.”
She may have grown into a different position with the show, but Hough is always a dancer at heart. โSeeing all these amazing dances and dancers out there all season long reminds me of when I was a pro back in the day. And oh, my gosh, I wish I could just get out there and dance sometimes.”
Julianne Hough Believes That Self-Love Has Healed Her
Hough has been very vocal about her battle with endometriosis over the last several years, and she firmly believes that taking care of her body by focusing her energy inward has helped. She told Women’s Health, “I haven’t had symptoms of endometriosis because of the love and kindness I’m giving to my body.”
โI will tell you, through this transformation of really connecting back to my truth, I havenโt had symptoms of endometriosis because of the love and kindness Iโm giving to my body,โ says Hough, who founded the dance-based fitness program, KINRGY.
She continued, โI believe thereโs stress, shame, guilt, and suppression of female energy thatโs associated with endometriosis, so de-layering that has really helped.โ
