Britt Stewart’s Husband is Starstruck Over Her New DWTS Partner

When the cast announcement for Season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars” was made, there was a lot of excitement about the new additions. Many fans were especially thrilled about the pairing of pro dancer Britt Stewart with former NBA star Baron Davis.

But along with exhilaration arose questions: Stewart had just gotten married, so what about the honeymoon? Indeed, on August 23, Stewart married her Season 31 partner, actor Daniel Durant. Luckily, Durant is a big fan of the former Cleveland Cavaliers point guard. He didn’t mind putting their honeymoon on hold so his wife and Davis could try to win the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Even so, Davis plans on making it up to him.

Stewart admitted to People that, after getting married, she’s spent most of her time with Davis instead of her new husband. Luckily, Durant has been very understanding.

“The good news is Daniel is a massive fan, so he is willingly like, ‘Go to rehearsal. Please tell Baron hi for me,” she said.

This selfless response isn’t lost on Davis.

“I’m going to make it up to you, Daniel. I’m going to make it up to him, I’m going to take him to games,” Davis insisted. “Whatever I can do, I’m going to make it up.”

Getting to hang out with Davis should definitely soften any disappointment Durant may have about putting off their honeymoon.

“He is losing his mind,” Stewart told Us Weekly. “My husband is an actor. He’s been to the Oscars. He is not easily [starstruck]. When I told him I was paired with Baron, he lost his mind. He is such a sports fan, and he cannot wait to meet [him]. He is ecstatic.”

Britt Stewart & Baron Davis Are Ready to Dance Their Hearts Out

While Davis and Stewart haven’t known each other long, they immediately hit it off and are looking forward to competing together on September 16.

“She’s adorable. She’s sweet,” Baron said. “I’m just like, ‘OK, all right, coach. Whatever you want me to do.’ She’s the greatest.”

The feeling was definitely mutual for Stewart.

“My first impression was that he came into the room completely authentic,” she said. “I saw who Baron was as soon as he walked through the door. And I really vibe with that, because that’s how I like to proceed in life. … He is lovely. He is vibrant and friendly, and his energy is contagious.”
