“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” cast made history when they were featured as a group in the Reality Stars of the Year feature for Us Weekly.
On the cover, as shared by Us Weekly on October 15, Lisa Barlow, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Heather Gay, and Mary Cosby are seen posing in front of a pool in various-colored outfits. Everyone is wearing a bathing suit, except for Cosby, who is in a light blue sheath dress.
“Hi, baby gorgeous! It’s that magical time, when Us Weekly crowns its Reality Stars of the Year, and who else but the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City โ Lisa, Mary, Heather, Meredith, Whitney, Angie, and Bronwyn โ could it be?” the publication wrote on Instagram.
“No other cast delivers the humor, heart and high-body-count hair quite like the women of SLC. For this week’s issue of Us Weekly, they sat down for exclusive interviews and opened up about everything from how the center snowflake gets chosen to updates about their current friendship status.”
RHOSLC Fans Got the ‘Desperate Housewives’ Reference
RHOSLC fans caught the iconic Vanity Fair cover reference featuring the cast of “Desperate Housewives” in May 2005.
Brian Moylan, author of “The Housewives: The Real Story Behind The Real Housewives,” posted a side-by-side picture of both photo shoots and wrote, “Great Cover for #RHOSLC. Here it is with the original for the girls who don’t get the reference.”
The women from RHOSLC are posed similarly to the “Desperate Housewives” cast, with matching bathing suits as well.
“Truly iconic. 10/10, no notes!” a fan exclaimed. Another viewer, who shared photos featured in the Us Weekly issue, wrote, “I’m [beyond] obsessed with this photoshoot.”
While the cover only had the five original RHOSLC cast members (minus Jen Shah), newer housewives Angie Katsenevas and Bronwyn Newport posed alongside the ladies in the article, all wearing the same outfits from the cover.
Cosby Explains Why She Wore a Dress Instead of a Bathing Suit
With the other housewives wearing bathing suits, Cosby stood out as the only one wearing a cocktail dress.
As reported by Us Weekly, it was her choice to be more covered up, as she’s a church leader who wants to uphold her “moral compass.”
Fans applauded Cosby for standing her ground, with one posting, “I love how Mary wouldnโt wear a bathing suit!”
Another laughed, “Mary said Iโm a woman of the cloth you not getting me in no swim suit.”
One fan shared, “And look at Mrs. Mary staying true to herself!!!”
