Luke Bryan Won’t Perform on Fridays & You’ll Love His Reason

Luke Bryan is well known for his devotion to his fans, going to great lengths and even risking injury to put on a great show for them.

But there’s one thing the “American Idol” judge won’t do. And that’s give them his Fridays!

And he has a great reason for that.

The “A Country Song Came On” singer co-hosted Country Countdown USA August 9 and 10. While on the show, he told host Lou Helton that the reason is his sons, Bo (17) and Tate (14.)

โ€œBo is playing high school football,” Luke revealed. “I try to take every Friday off so I can see him play.ย  Tate is playing golf too.ย  Bo has been driving, so we donโ€™t see him as much any more.ย  I donโ€™t know what weโ€™re going to do when he goes off to college.โ€

Luke Bryan Says He’s ‘Back to Feeling Good’ After Health Issues This Summer

Luke Bryan also had good things to report about his health.

The singer dealt with a bout of COVID that caused him to offer fans at one concert a full refund, then postpone two tour stops and three festival appearances.

But now Bryan says he’s fully recovered. โ€œIโ€™m 100%. I got knocked back pretty good in mid-June and early July. I think fans were concerned about me. I was doing everything I could. You can only take so much medication.ย  But all well. Feeling good,โ€ he said on Country Countdown USA.

Luke has admitted that it was hard for him to cancel shows.

On โ€œTaste of Country Nights,โ€ he said he realized fans would be asking, โ€œWhat is wrong with him?โ€ when they heard his voice. โ€œFans could see me really coughing hard onstage, and man, I was on every medicine trying to make myself better.โ€

โ€œYou know, thatโ€™s the really frustrating part, Iย want to be onstage at a hundred percent every night of my life, but thatโ€™s not really reality,โ€ he admitted.

Luke Bryan Offers Advice to the Next Generation of Country Artists

Luke Bryan is also passing on some of his hard-fought wisdom to country music’s next generation.

He told Country Countdown USA host Lou Helton he has recently given advice to both Bailey Zimmerman and Ella Langley.

ย Luke told the host, โ€œWhen I was his age, people didnโ€™t shoot video of everything.ย  I told him, โ€˜Learn, be better, and youโ€™re human.โ€™ Then we did a song together, He said, โ€˜Yeah, letโ€™s do it!โ€™ Heโ€™s being Bailey.ย  When he walked out, the fans lost it.ย  We got him in, and we got him outta there.โ€ย

His advice for Ella Langley, who just announced she’s taking a few weeks off from performing to focus on her health, is to focus on the excitement of her career skyrocketing.

โ€œIt so exciting to be on the cusp of your dreams coming true. Sheโ€™s becoming a celebrity,” Luke told Helton. “Itโ€™s really fun. She has the right tools. I introduced her to the music ofย KT Oslin. I told her, โ€˜You need to listen to KT Oslin.โ€™ย  Itโ€™s so great, with her & Lainey [Wilson], weโ€™ve got girls now with country accents.โ€
