Country Star Scotty McCreery’s Dog Hilariously Interrupts TV Interview

It would seem that country music superstar Scotty McCreeryโ€™s dog is not one to shy away from the limelight. After all, Moose has his own Instagram page, with nearly 35,000 followers.

But perhaps Moose is angling to flex his muscles on an even bigger stage.

On February 9, McCreery was interviewed by Renata Stiehl with WENY-TV in Elmira, New York, regarding his February 16 concert at the LECOM Event Center. And while the season 10 winner of American Idol discussed his lifelong love of country music, Moose decided to interject a few thoughts of his own, playfully barking in the background.

โ€œYou’re joining us from home, by the way, so you know, itโ€™s pets, itโ€™s kids, it’s just a matter of life, right?โ€ Stiehl joked, as McCreery cast a few good-humored glances in Mooseโ€™s direction.

Scotty McCreery Champions Country Music as “Real People Telling Real Stories”

Somewhat ironically, McCreery had been touching on what the โ€œjust a matter of lifeโ€ aspect of country music means to him when Moose felt it was time to speak up.

โ€œTo me, country music is just real people telling real stories, and if you look at my music, I mean, that’s the case,โ€ he said.

โ€œIt’s just real stories that you find a lot of other people relate to, so it’s pretty cool.โ€

McCreery is coming off a โ€œpretty coolโ€ 2024, during which he released his sixth studio album, โ€œRise and Fall,โ€ on May 10.

โ€œI love writing songs,โ€ McCreery said to Billboard just before the albumโ€™s release. โ€œI love sitting down with a blank sheet of paper and a few hours later, youโ€™ve got a piece of art โ€” itโ€™s a sense of accomplishment when you write something youโ€™re proud of.โ€

Scotty McCreery Realizes Dream with Induction Into Grand Ole Opry

Just a few weeks prior on April 20, McCreery experienced the ultimate dream come true when he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. According to Nashville TV station WZTV, McCreery said having received that honor, he would need to โ€œgo home and start writing a new bucket list.โ€

โ€œIt was always a dream, but I thought it was just going to be that, you know?โ€ McCreery said to Stiehl. โ€œI never thought it could be real life so the fact that it became a reality, and Garth Brooks invited me, and Randy Travis and Josh Turner inducted me, it’s like, that’s just out of a movie to me. I’m still kind of pinching myself.โ€

While currently on tour, with dates that run through the end of July, McCreery stated that plans are underway for making his next album.

โ€œThe same week we’re going to be up (in Elmira), we’re going to be in Nashville as well, just kind of tracking new songs we’ve been writing,โ€ he told WENY-TV. โ€œWe just had a little writing retreat up in the mountains to craft a new project that we’re going to have out at some point in the near future. It used to be where you’d only put out an album every two to three years, but nowadays, it’s like, โ€˜Hey, gotta keep feeding it, so I’m excited.โ€
