Harry Hamlin Reveals Major Change He Made When His Daughters Were Born

Harry Hamlin revealed that he made a major change to his lifestyle after his daughters were born.

The husband of former of  “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Rinna admitted that his long-distance relationship with his eldest child, Dimitri Hamlin, caused him to change things when Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray, his daughters with Rinna, were born in 1998 and 2001, respectively.

On the March 7 episode of the ‘”Let’s Not Talk About the Husband” podcast, Hamlin explained, “When our kids were born, when Delilah was born, I said, ‘I’m gonna be here throughout her childhood. I’m not gonna leave.’ I said, ‘I’m gonna stay here and work in LA  only. I’m not gonna go on location, I’m not gonna go to Toronto or Sydney, Australia, or wherever.’”

“The whole business up and left LA in 1998,” the “Mayfair Witches” star added of TV productions moving to other cities to save money. “What it ended up is me kind of taking a break for 20 years while we raised these kids.”

Hamlin added that during that time, he and Rinna “became quite entrepreneurial” as they launched a boutique, a line for QVC, and more. Rinna also landed a “stay at home” role on RHOBH  when the couple’s daughters were teens. More recently, the two debuted a wine line and celebrated the launch of Hamlin’s jarred pasta sauce.

Nearly two decades before he welcomed his daughters with Rinna, Hamlin had a son with his ex, Ursula Andress. In the RHOBH episode, “That’s Not Amore,” Rinna claimed Dimitri was the result of a one-night stand that turned into a relationship between Hamlin, then 28, and the 44-year-old movie star.

On the podcast, Hamlin admitted he was not a present father for Dimitri. “My son Dimitri, who’s the light of my life, he’s now in his 40s. He was born in 1980,” Hamlin shared. “And his mother and I were only together for a couple of years, Ursula Andress. She moved back to Italy with him, and she raised him there without me because I was living in the United States, she was living in Italy.”

“I missed him throughout his childhood,” Hamlin admitted.  “He didn’t have Dad there at his school plays, at his soccer games, I was not there to help him with his homework, I was not there to help navigate his way through bullying at school. I was always a presence in his life, but I wasn’t there constantly, and he suffered from it. He has issues because of that.”

At some point, Dimitri moved to the U.S. According to People magazine, he graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Philosophy.  He moved to California and became closer to his father’s side of the family.

In 2024, Dmitri appeared in a video to support his dad’s pasta sauce launch. He is also close with his half-sisters Delilah and Amelia and was photographed with them at Delilah’s song release party at Hotel Ziggy’s per Bravo TV.

In January 2025,  Dimitri lost his home in the Palisades fires that raged through Los Angeles County.

During a February 4 appearance on “Live With Kelly & Mark,” Hamlin told hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that his son was working as a digital artist.

“His house burned in Pacific Palisades,” Hamlin said. “And he’s been going around…he asked me for a reciprocating saw so he can saw through some drywall to see if he can get to his old office to see if he can get to his hard drives that all of his artwork is on.”
