Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood pulled off a surprise that has some Nashville tourists feeling like they have friends in HIGH places.
The country power couple celebrated the one-year anniversary of their Nashville honky-tonk “Friends In Low Places” by jumping behind the bar to serve up drinks to wide-eyed patrons.
Just before they hit the bar, “Friends In Low Places” posted a video of the couple on Instagram saying they were there to celebrate its first anniversary. โHereโs to one of 100,โ Brooks enthused. โIโm so excited,โ Yearwood chimed in. โWeโre going to go down and bartend,โ Brooks declared. And bartend they did, pouring cocktails, handing out beers and serving up frozen drinks.
Garth even led patrons in a rowdy sing-a-long of his mega-hit “Friends in Low Places.”

‘Friends’ Celebration Part of a Busy Week for Country King & Queen
Earlier last week, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood took the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville to help celebrate the Opry’s 100th birthday. The power duo performed tributes to bothย George Jonesย andย Tammy Wynette in the three-hour โOpry 100: A Live Celebration.โย
In an Instagram post, Trisha Yearwood told fans that the Opry even let her wear Wynette’s earrings and necklace on stage for the performance, writing, “We love honoring the country greats Wynette and Jones. Last night was special in so many ways, thank youย @opryย for letting me bring a piece of Tammy back to the stage forย #Opry100, her necklace, her earrings, and most of all her music! This family and the traditions are core to Country Music. I am beyond grateful to be part of the Opry family and this incredible celebration. xo
Yearwood took the stage a second time to perform classic country hit โThe Night the Lights Went Out in Georgiaโ with the legendary Reba McEntire.
Garth Brooks Reflects on What Opry Means to Him
Brooks got sentimental in an Instagram tribute to the Opry. Garth posted vintage footage of his Opry debut at age 27 on June 24, 1989, writing, “Congratulationsย @opryย onย #Opry100. I have hundreds of incredible memories being part of this GREATEST family โ Country Music is better because the institution of the Opry, the members, the team that works there, and the fans of the music that visit every day!
