We’re learning more about Morgan Wallen‘s week at Saturday Night Live leading up to his abrupt exit from the stage just six seconds after credits began to roll.
According to “People” magazine, Morgan Wallen opted out of a sketch he was offered a part in during his appearance as Saturday Night Live’s musical guest on March 29.
The skit, called “Big Dumb Line,” was pre-taped and starred guest host Mikey Madison and cast members Bowen Yang, Chloe Fineman, Ego Nwodim and Sarah Sherman singing about the Big Apple’s obsession with waiting in long lines for viral sensations like cronuts and other TikTok fads.
The part that was offered to Wallen was filled instead by Joe Jonas, who sang ““Believe in yourself, believe in the line/You deserve this viral Greek yogurt or to try Lisa Rinna’s wine/So don’t give up/The rewards will be splendid/Did Amelia Earhart give up?/I’m not sure how that ended.”
So far, neither Wallen nor anyone in his camp has commented on the role or why he chose not to do it.

The country singer raised eyebrows last Saturday during “Saturday Night Live‘s” closing credits. Traditionally, cast and guests mingle on stage as credits roll. But Wallen broke with tradition, leaving the SNL stage just six seconds into the credits after whispering something in host Mikey Madison’s ear.
When Wallen exited, he walked directly in front of the live camera shot.
Wallen performed his new singles “I’m the Problem” and “Just in Case” on the late-night sketch comedy. He also took part in promos with Madison in the days leading up to the live show.
Kenan Thompson Questions the Move, but NBC Says It’s All Good
Kenan Thompson, “SNL’s” longest running cast member, expressed surprise over Wallen’s walk out in an interview with “Entertainment Weekly.” Thompson said, “I don’t know what goes through people’s minds when they decide to do stuff like that. I don’t know if he understood the assignment or not, or if he was really feeling a certain kind of way,”
“You see somebody before you get a chance to say hi or say good job or anything like that, they just dipping. I thought maybe he had to go to the potty or something.”
But NBC was less concerned with the incident. According to “TMZ,” network insiders say there is “no bad blood on their end.” They add that they would “totally” have the country music star back in the future.
The insiders stress the swift departure was nothing more than “just an awkward moment at the end of the show.”
