Cameron Mathisonโs Before & After Videos Sparked a Big Reaction From Fans & Friends
Mathisonโs video started with a look at an outdoor courtyard with a fountain. Boxwoods were decorated with white lights in the clip, which was shot at Christmastime just before the fires. A lit Christmas tree could also be seen through a window into the house. The next shot showed the same patio area with just the fountain and brick pavers remaining amid the aftermath of the fire.
Mathison also shared a photo of the outside of his house and then another of the same angle after the fire. He also posted โbeforeโ photos of his beautifully decorated living room and other interior photos, as well as a shot of him and his daughter in the pool, with the house and its epic chimney in full view. The next photo showed just the brick of the chimney remaining in the rubble.
Mathison also posted a video that panned the charred remains of his family home. Another photo showed Mathison putting Christmas lights on a tree outside the house, with the next shot of just the treeโwith no house remaining behind it. The last photo showed the broken gate in front of Mathisonโs beloved property.

Cameron Mathison Was Only Able to Save a Few Things From His House
Mathison first broke the heartbreaking news about his home via an Instagram Reel on January 8. The outdoor fountain was the centerpiece of the video as he showed fans what was left of his family home. Flames were still visibly burning in the distance in Mathisonโs first video.
โWe are safe. But this is whatโs left of our beautiful home,โ the actor wrote. โOur home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday.โ
Mathison told TMZ he had been living in the home alone amid his separation from his wife Vanessa Arevalo. Mathison’s two kids, Lucas and Leila, attend school in Europe.
In an interview with โGood Morning Americaโ on January 9, Mathison revealed that he lost โeverythingโ he owned in the fire. โI have this hoodie and a pair of pants and two pairs of sneakers left. That’s it,โ he said.
Mathison later told Entertainment Tonight that he was able to grab birth certificates, passports, and a few photo albums. He admitted he didnโt really think he would lose everything else. โI unfortunately left some valuable ones where the kids were very, very young and film that you can’t replace,” he said. “If I really thought the house was going down, I would’ve grabbed so much more.”
