Emma Slater Posts Response After DWTS Pro Claims She’s ‘In Love’

Emma Slater and Alan Bersten’s romance is serious, according to one of their “Dancing with the Stars” castmates, but Slater is still playing coy about the situation.

Speaking with TooFab in April 2025, veteran pro dancer Gleb Savchenko reacted to Slater and Bersten’s passionate onstage kiss during a live performance on the “Dancing With the Stars Tour” in Chicago. Many fans considered the move a hard launch of the couple’s rumored relationship.

“Tour was amazing,” Savchenko told the outlet. “Four months, 15 weeks, straight up, Alan and Emma incredible. I mean, I knew it, obviously. But yeah, I’m super happy for them.”

“They look so happy,” he added of the couple. “I don’t know how it started, but you know, they’re in love. And that’s what matters.”

It didn’t take long for Slater to tease a launch of her own on social media.

Slater downplayed the official launch of her romance. She posted a TikTok video with Bersten on April 25 and teased it as a preface to “soft launch.” As Slater danced and lip-synced to the Taylor Swift song, “I Knew You Were Trouble,” Bersten popped out of nowhere to scream in the clip.

“POV: you’re kinda maybe warming up to a soft launch so you film a vibe check 😂,” Slater captioned the clip.

Some fans commented that it was too late for a soft launch, as they already saw the hard launch onstage in Chicago.

Slater and Bersten previously teased their romance in an April Fool’s Day social media post.

In the clip posted to Slater’s TikTok account, Bersten posed with his arms wrapped tightly around Slater. The lovebirds nodded their heads in unison to a popular TikTok trend sound many couples have been using. Slater captioned the post with “iykyk 😊” and fans went wild with speculation that the two were an item.

DWTS Host Alfonso Ribeiro Also Knew About the Romance

Several DWTS co-stars have known about Slater and Bersten’s romance for a while. In an interview with People magazine, show host Alfonso Ribeiro revealed “there was no surprise” that Slater and Bersten were a couple. But the former “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”  star admitted he was caught off guard by their onstage kiss during the Chicago show.

“Emma’s my sister, and she’s at my house several times a week. So, clearly, my household knew what was going on,” Ribeiro told the outlet. “We just didn’t know that they had made the decision to launch.”

“Rumors were out there,” he said. “I think that people were already [speculating].”

Slater was previously married to fellow DWTS pro Sasha Farber. The couple divorced in February 2023 after four years of marriage, according to E! News.
