One of Food Network’s Longest-Running Hits Is Coming to an End

After a decade of tasty recipes, lively banter, and star-studded guests, one of Food Network’s most beloved weekend programs is coming to a close. Fans will get one last chance to tune in this December as the network wraps up the impressive 10-year run of “The Kitchen,” leaving behind more than 40 seasons of cooking tips, laughs, and memorable moments.

‘The Kitchen’ Ending After 40 Seasons

After 10 years and more than 40 seasons, “The Kitchen” will officially close this December, according to Variety. The final episode of one of the longest-running hits on Food Network will air on December 13.

“The Kitchen” is co-hosted by Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro, Geoffrey Zakarian, and also features recurring guest Alex Guarnaschelli. The show debuted in January 2014 and was marketed as Food Network’s lighthearted weekend gathering spot where viewers could not only get recipes and the latest food trends but also some family meal inspirations.

During its run, the Emmy-nominated show did become a staple for Saturday viewers. It was more than a cooking show, but was part talk show and part friendly banter between some familiar faces from the network.

Variety reported that the end of “The Kitchen” comes as Food Network and parent company Warner Bros. Discovery are re-evaluating priorities for the 2026 programming schedule. They are trying to determine the split between the linear channels and streaming platforms.

While the final episode of “The Kitchen” will air on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET on Food Network, fans of the show can still stream all episodes on HBO Max and Discovery+.

Statement From Warner Bros. Discovery

After the announcement was made, Betty Ayala, head of food content for Warner Bros. Discovery, released the following statement, “For over a decade Sunny, Katie, Jeff, Geoffrey, and more recently Alex have engaged audiences with their individual and distinct food sensibilities and sense of humor that together make ‘The Kitchen’ a delicious way to spend an hour. Everyone knows all good parties end up in ‘The Kitchen,’ where the conversation, laughs, and food flow; the best parties probably end a little bit earlier than some guests would like, but we’ve got twelve years of memories and wanted to celebrate this team’s hard work during one final holiday season.”

Fans React to Sad News

After Food Network shared the news on their Instagram page, fans were quick to voice their opinion on the decision.

One fan wrote, “Very sad. I TRULY hope they don’t replace it with another competition show. We have ENOUGH of those.” Another added, “No way! This is my favorite Food network show. It’s how I learned to cook. 😩😩😩”
