The cast of “The Chicken Sisters” has been quite vocal about their affection for the Hallmark show and one another. Schuyler Fisk and Genevieve Angelson, who play sisters Amanda and Mae, have admitted to bonding before the show even began. โShooting season two with everyone, but also specifically with Genevieve, was so fun,” Fisk told EntertainmentNow. “Because we do have this, like, true friendship, love connection, and bond thatโs only grown since last year.”
In a recent interview, Fisk reflected on her role in “The Baby-Sitters Club.” The actress still feels a kinship with her castmates, 30 years later. She admitted to Nerdtropolis that “It was a special role for me, too, and all the girls, we’re still really close, still. It was a real bonding… all of our first real experiences acting in a movie.”
Schuyler Fisk Is Recognized More For Her Role as Kristi Than Any Other
Based on the popular book series, “The Baby-Sitters Club,” the movie premiered in 1995. Fisk, Rachael Leigh Cook, Tricia Joe, Zelda Harris, Bre Blair, Stacy Linn Ramsower, and Larisa Oleynik starred as the beloved baby-sitters.
“It’s really crazy, because I was 11 when I did that movie,” Fisk explained. “I am recognized more for that than literally anything. And I was in Nashville this past weekend, and I got recognized two times! Two separate places, for that!”
“It’s always shocking to me,” she continued. “People are like, ‘I know you from somewhere.’ And I’m thinking they’re going to be like, ‘Chicken Sisters’ or ‘Orange County’ even. Anything where I was sort of more of an adult. And they’re like, ‘Baby-Sitters Club, you were Kristy!'” She said, laughing.
“But it’s cool, because these people now, that was a special time in their lives, and a lot of these women read the books,” she added. “And now, they’re showing their kids the movie.”
The Baby-Sitters Club Has a Text Chain
In 2020, Oleynik told Netflix that it was true; all the baby-sitters kept in touch and were on a text chain. I’ve made some lifelong friendships fromย ‘The Baby-Sitters Club,'” she said. “I just remember that was a super magical summer for a lot of us.”
Over the years, the women have also posted proof of their enduring friendship on their social media. Sadly, Tricia Joe, who played Claudia Kishi, died in 2021.
“The Baby-Sitters Club” will be the latest ’90s film to receive the Broadway treatment. In September 2025, TWTheatricals announced that the musical would take place 12 years after the girls disbanded the club. The now-25-year-old women would converge on Stoneybrook, CT, reunite, and answer “questions of identity, career, relationships and fulfillment.”
