Jenny Marrs Shares Message to ‘Be Kind’

On September 12, Marrs took to her Instagram Stories to share how her neighbor and a friend are dealing with grief and sadness in their lives.

After briefly sharing their stories, she added a reminder about the importance of kindness.

“I’m going to visit and sit with my precious neighbor and friend’s momma this morning,” Marrs wrote. “She’s 98 and lost her daughter unexpectedly.”

She continued, “Another dear friend just updated me that her sister’s cancer has indeed spread.”

“The heaviness of the past week is so palpable. So much hurting and sorrow,” the HGTV star noted. “This world is not our home.”

She added, “Be kind. That’s all. Just be kind. We are all carrying a lot.”

Jenny Marrs Has Been Grieving the Loss of a Dear Friend

On September 6, Marrs took to Instagram to post a tribute following the passing of her friend and neighbor Jill. She wrote, in part, “Just four months after we said goodbye to her beloved and our dear Bob, we find ourselves wading again in the shocking waves of grief as we mourn the earth-side loss of our Jill.”

Marrs shared, “I know she is no longer in pain and I’m grateful for the promise of Peace for eternity. She and Bob are smiling big together, again. Rest in peace, my friend. I’ll miss you down here.”

On September 8, Marrs showed a physical copy of her new book, “Trust God, Love People,” and explained how she was feeling both sorrow and joy.

“My advanced copy of my new book, ‘Trust God, Love People,’ just arrived,” the HGTV star explained in the caption. “I was so excited to get a copy to share with my neighbor, Jill. I knew the stories of Bob on these pages would make her smile. I can’t believe she’ll never read it.”

She continued, “Once again, I’m reminded of the intermingling of joy and sorrow in this life. I’m celebrating the countdown to launch day and grieving the loss of my friend earth side. If anyone taught me about loving people well, it was our beloved neighbors, Bob and Jill. I learned so much about slowing down, showing up and living a life of loving well from the two of them.”

Marrs added, “I hope this book honors their legacy well. It feels like Divine timing to be holding it in my hands today: A reminder that God is close to the brokenhearted.”
