Months after announcing their newest series “The Flip Off” would begin production, HGTV has officially confirmed a premiere date for the upcoming six-episode competition series starring exes Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa, along with Tarek’s wife Heather El Moussa.
“It’s almost flipping time! #TheFlipOff, a spicy series that sees Tarek and Heather facing off against Christina in a renovation battle for the ages, premieres [Wednesday, January 29 at 8 p.m. Eastern] 🔥 👀 📺,” the network wrote in the caption of a December 12 Instagram post.
“Can’t wait!!!! 👏 🙌,” Christina commented on the network’s post, with Tarek chiming in and writing, “This has been a long time coming… 👀 🎬 🔥.”
‘The Flip Off’ Stars Sound Off on Their Competition
“The Flip Off” will see Team Tarek and Team Christina facing off to see who can buy, renovate, and flip a home for the greatest financial gain. Heather joins her husband on Team Tarek, while Christina’s husband Josh Hall was meant to join her team, but was cut from the show after the news of their divorce dropped.
Tarek, Heather, and Christina all opened up about the competition ahead of them in statements shared on the HGTV website.
“When it comes to distressed real estate, I own the space and Christina doesn’t stand a chance,” Tarek shared. “It all comes down to this: Who’s going to rise higher from the ashes of everything that we burned to the ground?”
“I come from high-end real estate, and now I’ve been flipping houses with Tarek for the last few years,” Heather added. “It’s my time to show how hard I’ve worked on my designs, and, more than anything, I want to prove that we can beat Christina.”
“Tarek, Heather and I have all been through a lot of stuff together, and we are all highly competitive,” Christina said. “Tarek is the self-proclaimed ‘best flipper in the world,’ but, honestly, give me a break. I can’t wait to smoke them at their own game.”
Famous Faces Join ‘The Flip Off’ as Guest Judges
Tarek, Heather, and Christina are not the only three network stars joining “The Flip Off”, as each episode will see a new guest judge arrive to pick their favorite of the different spaces in the flipped houses (starting with the kitchen, then going to the main suite, living room, guest suite, extra bedroom and exterior).
The network confirmed the lineup of guest judges, hand-picked by the three competitors, which features celebrities from various netoworks and shows. The full list of guest judges includes Heather Dubrow (“The Real Housewives of Orange County”), Dominique El Moussa and Laurie Haack (Tarek and Christina’s mothers), Amanza Smith (Heather El Moussa’s former “Selling Sunset” co-star), Ant Anstead (Christina’s ex-husband), Izzy Battres (“Flip or Flop” and “Izzy Does It”) and Jeff Lawrence (former “Flip or Flop” contractor), and Jeff Lewis (“Hollywood Houselift”).
