Sara Bareilles and Joe Tippett Tie the Knot in Heartfelt Celebration

After years of love, music, and shared creativity, Sara Bareilles and Joe Tippett have officially tied the knot!

The โ€œLove Songโ€ singer, 45, and the actor, 43, exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family.

Bareilles confirmed the news on Tuesday, Oct. 7, with a sweet Instagram post.

โ€œWe did a big thing,โ€ she began. โ€œI will just say that I love this man and I love the community who came to hold us up.โ€

In the wedding images she shared, Bareilles looked radiant in a white gown with cap sleeves and a plunging neckline, carrying a colorful bouquet.

Tippett complemented her in a dark green suit.

In a charming touch, their dog walked down the aisle wearing a tuxedo jacket and cute little red bowtie.

Prior to the wedding, Tippett posted a heartfelt message: โ€œMarrying My Best Friend Today. May We All Be So Lucky.โ€

Bareilles & Tippett: Their Love Story

Their love story began behind the scenes.

The stars first met in 2015 during the out-of-town tryout for โ€œWaitress: The Musical,โ€ where Bareilles wrote the score and Tippett was cast as Earl.

Their bond grew over time, and by 2017 they made their first public appearance together.

On New Yearโ€™s Day 2023, Bareilles announced their engagement with a warm Instagram post, writing, โ€œYes to marrying this man. Itโ€™s an easy, earned, relaxed YES.โ€

โ€œThe more I know you the more I know I love youโ€ฆand you have introduced me to parts of myself I was afraid to love,โ€ she added in the touching post.

Tippettโ€™s proposal was beautifully spontaneous.

During a trip to Mexico City, he asked Bareilles to marry him on a rooftop at sunset, according to People

They had been searching for the perfect ring, but in a candid move, he grabbed a simple gold feather band from a local market and proposed anyway.

Bareillesโ€™ Wedding Vision

In a January interview with PEOPLE, Bareilles revealed her vision for the big day: cozy, warm, and full of comfort.

She emphasized that she didnโ€™t want a grand performance at the ceremony โ€” her non-negotiables included comfortable seating, blankets, great food, and music that felt genuine.

โ€œWhat I really want to do is celebrate bringing our community of loved ones together to witness this journey we’re taking,โ€ she shared with the outlet. โ€œAnd I really want my friends and family to feel like they had a great weekend.โ€
