Diane Keaton, a renowned actress, director, and producer, has tragically passed away at the age of 79, according to PEOPLE.
She passed away in California, but “further details are not available at this time, and her loved ones have asked for privacy, according to a family spokesperson.”
Keaton is survived by her two children, Dexter, 29, and Duke, 25, whom she adopted in 1996 and 2001.

Diane Keaton’s Most Famous Roles
Keaton made her debut in the 1970 film โLovers and Other Strangers,” but it was in 1972 when she truly became a household name, starring ย as Kay Adams-Corleone in โThe Godfather.”
“I think the kindest thing that someone’s ever done for me … is that I got cast to be inย The Godfatherย and I didn’t even read it. I didn’t know a single thing,”ย Keaton told PEOPLEย in a 2022 interview. “I just was going around auditioning. I think that was amazing for me. And then I had to kind of read the book.”ย
She also worked with Woody Allen that same year, starring alongside him in the Broadway show โPlay It Again, Sam.โ She received a Tony nomination for this role.
Allen and Keaton went on to collaborate on eight films, including โAnnie Hall,โ for which Keaton won an Oscar in 1978.
She went on to star in numerous other projects, including being nominated for an Oscar a total of four times. After “Annie Hall,” she was nominated for best actress in “Reds” (1981), “Marvin’s Room” (1996), and “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003).
