Keith Urban recently decided to swap out lyrics from a song long tied to his romance with Nicole Kidman — and replaced them with a shout-out to rising country star Maggie Baugh.
The move comes days before Kidman officially filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage.
During a performance of “The Fighter,” a track originally understood to reflect the early days of his relationship with Kidman, Urban altered a key line.
Rather than singing, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” he instead sang, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
The change was captured in a video shared by Baugh on Saturday, September 27. She caption the post, “Did he just say that👀”
The timing of the lyric tweak only added fuel to the chatter, as Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on Tuesday, Septmber 30.

Fans had mixed reactions to the now-viral clip.
Some observers interpret Urban’s alteration as an overt signal of shifting loyalties — perhaps even hinting at a romantic alignment with Baugh.
Yet others view the lyric change as less dramatic. Some fans believe it’s an innocent artistic flourish.

Nicole Kidman has officially filed for divorce from Keith Urban, ending their 19-year marriage.
In court documents filed in Nashville on September 30, 2025, Kidman, 58, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
The couple shares two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
