Reese Witherspoon is soaking up the sun — and the romance — on a luxury yacht in the South of France. The 49-year-old actress was seen packing on the PDA with new boyfriend Oliver Haarmann, 57, off the coast of Saint-Tropez on July 13.

The sultry snaps show Witherspoon and the private-equity financier embracing and kissing while enjoying the sea breeze and summer weather. The actress wore an all-white swimsuit, while Haarmann kept it casual in a striped bathing suit, blue t-shirt, and a white Nike baseball cap.
The couple’s relationship first made headlines in September 2024, when multiple sources confirmed to People that Witherspoon and Haarmann had been dating. The pair were initially spotted in New York City that July. At the time, a source said the actress was “taking things slow when it comes to dating.”
“She enjoys it but doesn’t want it to be a big focus. She’s busy with work and her son,” the source added. “These are her biggest priorities.”
Balancing Romance, Career, and Family
In October 2024, another insider shared that the two were continuing to see each other. “She’s having fun with Oliver,” the source said, adding that Witherspoon “often flies between Nashville and N.Y.C. to see him.”
Haarmann, a founding partner of Searchlight Capital and minority co-owner of the NHL’s New York Islanders, has also reportedly spent time with Witherspoon’s children, including her sons Deacon Phillippe, 21, and Tennessee James Toth, 12.
“It’s unclear if he’s met her daughter Ava Phillippe yet,” the source said at the time, but noted, “Reese loves that he’s a businessman and not into Hollywood.”

Reese Witherspoon was previously married twice. She met her first husband, actor Ryan Phillippe, at her 21st birthday party, per People. The pair went on to star together in the hit 1999 film “Cruel Intentions” and married that same year. They welcomed their daughter, Ava, shortly after and had a son, Deacon, in 2003. The couple separated in 2006.
In 2011, the “Big Little Lies” star married CAA talent agent Jim Toth. The couple welcomed their son, Tennessee James, in 2012. In March 2023, Witherspoon and Toth announced their decision to divorce in a joint statement shared to Instagram.
“We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the statement read. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”
With her romantic life heating up, Witherspoon continues to balance her personal world with a busy professional schedule. Most recently, she starred in the 2025 comedy “You’re Cordially Invited” alongside Will Ferrell. She’s also set to return this fall in season 4 of “The Morning Show” and is producing the long-anticipated “Legally Blonde 3,” which remains in pre-production.
