If you think Sabrina Carpenter is sitting around looking at her two brand-new Grammy Awards, think again. The singer has something else to celebrate. Carpenter is releasing a deluxe version of her “Short n’ Sweet” album featuring a collab with none other than country legend Dolly Parton.
Parton teams up with the 25-year-old singer for a new version of her hit song โPlease, Please, Please.โ Carpenter posted a hand-written song list covered in lipstick kisses with the caption “as a thank you for giving this album 2 Grammyโs :โ)
short nโ sweet deluxe is now available for pre order.. and yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Partonโฆ. ๐๐๐she wouldnโt want me to swear but..”ย
In addition to the reboot of “Please, Please, Please,” the deluxe version of the album will feature four new songs: “15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman” and “Bad Reviews.”
Carpenter Took Home Two Grammys
The “Espresso” singer took home Grammy Awards for best pop vocal album and best pop solo performance for “Espresso.” She was nominated for six Grammys in total, including Album of the Year.
The awards and deluxe album drop are the cherries on top of an especially sweet year for the singer. She opened for Taylor Swift during the early legs of theย Eras Tour,ย then leveraged her budding fame to launch a massive tour of her own following the release ofย “Short n’ Sweet.”
The European leg of that tour kicks off March 3 in Dublin, Ireland.
Carpenter’s Comedic Grammy Performance Gets Raves
Carpenter is getting plenty of buzz for her Grammy performance as well as her wins. What initially looked like a series of mishaps where the singer struggled to find the spotlight, dropped her baton and descended some steps that took her below the stage, actually turned out to be a calculated comedic performance that had the audience and fans at home cheering.
In an Instagram post by the Recording Academy, one fan commented “she is adorable. my first time watching her perform. i couldn’t take my eyes off her. โค๏ธ” Another said, “Sabrinaโs performance was so adorable><! She is an expressive artist, She will go far.โบ๏ธ๐ฉต๐”
Dolly Parton’s Collabs Introduce Her to Younger Audience
As for her collab with Dolly Parton, it’s certainly not the first time the country icon has teamed up with a younger star. Parton collaborated with Beyoncรฉย for “Tyrant” offย “Cowboy Carter,”ย Pitbullย for “Powerful Women” andย Kelly Clarksonย for a remix ofย “9 to 5.” And last fall she released a remake of the Diane Warren song “Gonna Be You” featuring young country singers Maddie and Tae, Jessie James Decker and Callie Twisselman.
