Selena Gomez has quite a bit going on these days, both personally and professionally. Recently, she tied the knot with Benny Blanco, and she’s also currently on two hit television shows. One is the “Wizards of Waverly Place” and the other is “Only Murders in the Building.” Now, she’s expressing her desire to have kids.
According to PEOPLE, Gomez recently posted on Instagram about her role on “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.” Notably, season two of the series premiered on the Disney Channel on September 12. All episodes from the season began streaming on Disney+ on October 8.
The actress and singer said on her Instagram Stories, “Alex Russo is a mommy ๐ฅน.” She continued, “Hopefully one day thatโll be me.” Gomez included a clip of herself from the show in the Instagram post.
Gomez Has Been Open About Her Desire to Have Children
The previously mentioned Instagram post isn’t the first time Gomez has spoken about children. In 2024, she interviewed with Vanity Fair. She stated that she’s unable to carry children due to a health condition.
She bravely said, “I havenโt ever said this, but I unfortunately canโt carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the babyโs in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”
Gomez also told Vanity Fair that she’s open to other ways of having children. This includes surrogacy and adoption. She said, “Itโs not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone.”
The “Only Murders” star continued, “Iโm in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. Iโm one of those people.”
She added, “Iโm excited for what that journey will look like, but itโll look a little different. At the end of the day, I donโt care. Itโll be mine. Itโll be my baby.”
Regarding Gomez and Blanco, they tied the knot on September 27. They began dating in July 2023.
She Remains Busy these Days
Gomez is in high demand these days. Her Hulu series, “Only Murders in the Building,” is currently in its 5th season. Presently, it hasn’t been picked up for a 6th season, but this is expected to happen as it remains a hit show.
Regarding ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” Gomez’s character passed away on one of the most recent episodes. According to US Weekly, she will star in the upcoming biopic about Linda Ronstadt. She is also rumored to appear in a forthcoming film by Jordan Peele.
