Erika Jayne Offers Advice to 2 of Her RHOBH Co-Stars

Erika Jayne spoke out about her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-stars Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley’s separations from their husbands.

In a January 205 interview with E! News, the “Chicago” star said she’s “not surprised” that Richards hasn’t filed for divorce from her husband Mauricio Umansky nearly two years after announcing their separation. She also addressed Kemsley’s more recent split from her husband PK.

“I think that this is a personal journey,” Jayne said. “You know, nobody can say when you should or shouldn’t [file].”

“I would say the same thing to Kyle that I would say to Dorit, which is, ‘I don’t want either one of you to be blindsided. So, just be, you know, prepared,’” she added.

In November 2020, Erika Jayne filed for divorce from her husband Tom Girardi after nearly 20 years of marriage. At the time, she told Us Weekly in a statement that she made the decision to end her marriage “after much consideration” and that it was “not a step taken lightly or easily.”

Jayne’s divorce is still not finalized. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in late 2024, the singer said “being divorced is the least of [her] concerns” amid her ex’s ongoing legal troubles. In August, a federal jury convicted the former attorney of wire fraud, per the Los Angeles Times.

Sutton Stracke’s Advice Was Different Than Erika Jayne’s

While Jayne said divorce is a “journey” and no one should tell someone when to file, RHOBH co-star Sutton Stracke urged Richards to start the process.

In the RHOBH episode “A Sobering Separation,”  Stracke reacted to Richards’ claim that things would remain amicable with Umansky, “I just think when it comes to money, people can be different,” Stracke warned Richards. She then suggested that her co-star should file for divorce right away to protect herself financially. “If you go on to do something, from the date of filing, that’s yours,” she told the RHOBH OG.

“Kyle needs to get a grip and go talk to an attorney. Quickly! Run, don’t walk.” Stracke added in a confessional.

Richards has said divorce is still not on the table despite her long separation from Umansky. During a December 2024 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” she told host Andy Cohen she had not talked to Umansky about divorce at all. “It just hasn’t come up yet,” Richards claimed. “We just live separate lives, and it just hasn’t come up yet. And, you know, when the time comes obviously we will.”

In a January 2025 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Richards admitted that both she and Umansky“ are “kind of nervous and afraid of this next chapter.” “So, we’ve probably avoided it, honestly,” she added.

Dorit Kemsley is Still Navigating Her Separation From PK Kemsley

Kemsley’s situation is also in limbo eight months after announcing her separation from PK.

In December, ​​​​​​she told Us there was “a lot of work that needs to be done” in her relationship.

“You don’t reach this place and want to jump back into the saddle without having done the work that, you know, is necessary to enjoy the marriage and have the communication you need,” she said at the time.

During an appearance on the “Watch What Happens Live Aftershow” on January 21, she said she is still “navigating” her separation from the English businessman. “PK and I are navigating this — it’s like our marriage, up and down,” she said. “I’d like to see things a little bit more status quo, stable, calm, consistent. And I think that then we could at least start to heal or make decisions or whatever it is. But, calm heads prevail. So, we’ll see. We’re getting there.”
