Kyle Richards asked for prayers for her close friend Teddi Mellencamp and shared an update on her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky as both recovered from surgeries.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star spoke out during an Amazon Livestream on February 18. 2025. After a fan asked for an update on Mellencamp, who recently underwent brain surgery, Richards asked for prayers for her friend and former co-star and revealed she has been by her side at the hospital.
“I really do believe in the power of prayer and please keep her in your prayers,” Richards said. “We’ve been with Teddi every day. Even sleeping there. We have been rotating. You know, she has a lot of people that love her and a great support system, thank God. Because that’s really important in times like this, the doctor said. We’re very grateful for all of the people over there taking care of her.”
“I’ll let Teddi speak to her situation when she’s able to,” Richards added.

GettyRichards was previously seen supporting Mellencamp in an Instagram story ahead of her brain surgery. Pal Morgan Wade and Mellencamp’s estranged husband Edwin Arroyave were also seen in footage from the hospital as the “Two Ts in a Pod” host awaited surgery.
Richards’ update came just after Mellencamp’s younger sister, Justice Mellencamp, posted to her Instagram story to say that her sister will “share her journey when she is ready.”
“She is by far the strongest person I know,” Justice wrote. “So many emotions as I travel home today but her village is the best one I’ve ever seen and I’m so grateful for them! 🙏🏻 Your prayers are everything. Thank you 🖤.”
Mellencamp, 43, first shared the news about her health emergency on Instagram on February 12. “For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches,” she told fans. “Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization. After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months.”
Mellencamp has also been battling melanoma for several years and has regularly kept fans updated.

GettyOn her Alazon Livestream, Richards was also asked for an update on Umansky following a recent ski accident in Aspen, Colorado. “He’s recovering well,” she told her followers of her husband, whom she has been amicably separated from since July 2023. “He had a plate put in his shoulder and had emergency surgery. But he’s doing well.”
She noted that Umansky was recovering in Aspen and she hadn’t seen him in person.
Richards also admitted that all of the bad news in a short time was too much to bear. “2025 can just F all the way off,” she said. “I can’t with all of this.”
On February 14, Umansky shared an Instagram story that showed him being carried off of a mountain by ski patrol. Two days later he posted a second Instagram story with an update. The Agency founder revealed that he was in a hospital in Aspen after having surgery on his clavicle.
“It was a clean break,” he shared. “I expect a speedy recovery. The doctors and nurses at Aspen Valley Hospital are the best. I was wearing a helmet and that for sure saved me.”
