GH’s Eden McCoy Dishes on Her WSB Storyline

Kelly Thiebaud’s return to “General Hospital” has been nothing short of celebratory. The actress is thrilled to come home again. Fans may not understand how Britt Westbourne is still alive, but they are here for it.

The last time that we saw Britt, before her miraculous return, she was dying in her mother, Liesl Obrecht’s, arms. She had gotten in between Heather Webber and Josslyn Jacks and was sliced by a poisonous hook. Joss watched Britt die while saving her life, or so she thought.

This week, Joss caught her first glimpse of the very much alive Britt. Her portrayer, Eden McCoy, couldn’t be happier about the plot twist. She recently shared her thoughts on Britt’s return with Soap Opera Digest.

Eden McCoy Is Thrilled to be Working With Kelly Thiebaud Again

Eden McCoy’s character on GH is currently undercover with Vaughn at The Five Poppies resort in Dalmatia. It is there that she first laid eyes on Britt again, and according to Eden, she couldn’t be happier about the storyline twist.

“I absolutely adore Kelly! Kelly is amazing. She’s such a badass, she’s super-talented, and working with her is really, really fun. We are both jokesters and don’t take anything too seriously, so it’s challenging because there is always laughter, even when it seems like there shouldn’t be laughter,” explains McCoy.

The actress also loves the current storyline that her character is embroiled in, and she is happy to share it with Kelly. “I was so excited when I heard she was coming back. I’m super-stoked to keep working with her, especially because it’s been a few years and we are at such a different point in Josslyn’s life. It’s just so much more interesting because now we’re both grown women and we’re both in this, like, weird spy world. So, it’s nice to have another female [in the storyline] that I’m so comfortable with, and for us to be doing similar things.”

Eden on Josslyn Seeing That Ghost

Soap fans understand that no one is really, truly dead in this genre. There is always a chance that an old favorite will be revived, and that is exactly what has happened on GH. Eden explained her character’s initial confusion to Soap Opera Digest.

“When Joss first sees Britt, there are so many things running through her brain. I don’t know that she can even decipher her thoughts about it other than just pure shock, pure confusion. There’s also a weird sense of relief that she’s not dead, but then she goes to, ‘What is going on here?!’ ”

Joss also realizes that there is a good chance that Britt is also following orders and can help each other. “Joss has that hope because she’s like, ‘Well, now I know somebody who’s involved in this who can perhaps tell me some information,’ you know? She’s thinking, ‘We’re friendly, we have a past.’ She thinks she can use that moving forward.”

Viewers can expect Joss to run to Vaughn with every detail since he is currently her undercover husband. “He can kind of construct theories pretty immediately as to what she could be doing there — and it only makes sense that she’s involved in some way with the project that they’re there to look into because why else would someone fake their own death? Why else would she be here? And what are the odds that she’s here at the same time they are? We may not have any answers, but that’s kind of our answer for the time being.”
