‘General Hospital’ Recap for Aug. 25: Is Ric Still Alive?

What a way to begin the week in Port Charles! If you missed today’s episode, then you missed a lot! Maxie’s diagnosis is updated, and Drew destroys Alexis in public. Then Ava and Ric’s blackmail scheme turns violent.

Maxie Is in a Coma and Moved to Boston

ABC

Lucas appears in the waiting room where Maxie’s loved ones are gathered, and he gives them an update. She is now officially comatose, and Lucas proposes moving her to a hospital in Boston for the best care. He insists that GH can’t handle her needs and that this is the best facility in the country for coma care. At first, Spinelli loses his mind at the thought of letting her go, but eventually agrees with Felicia and Mac’s decision to transport her out.

Spinelli then sits with Maxie and tells her that she has to fight to come back to him and their kids. Everyone comes to see her, including Lulu and Brook Lynn, hand in hand. They tell Maxie that she has finally gotten them to call a truce. They promise to take care of her kids while she is gone.

Mac tells her that she is the strongest person he knows, and since she has always liked a challenge, this is a good one. James is with him, and he leaves Nathan’s badge with Maxie. Everyone watches as she is wheeled into the elevator, and Lucas agrees to travel with her to Boston.

Jason Tries to Help Britt

ABC

At the Five Poppies, Britt returns to her villa to find Jason there. She is still insisting that resort life is good for her, but he isn’t buying it. Britt makes a few jealous side comments about Greta, and Jason explains that she doesn’t matter. He thinks she is involved in whatever is happening at the resort, and their conversation amounted to them both working each other for information.

Jason then apologizes for the hurt that he has caused Britt, and again offers to take her anywhere in the world. She tells them that seeing him hurts her because she’s reminded of home and everyone that she misses. Jason agrees to leave, but hands her a burner phone to keep. He tells Britt that if she calls him, he will be there.

Alexis Threatens Drew in Public

ABC

Drew has called a meeting with Alexis at the Metro Court. She arrives hoping for a civil conversation about Scout. They both agree that what is most important is that the little girl is surrounded by all the love possible. Alexis believes that this meeting might be productive until a woman walks up and serves her with a restraining order. She is to stay 500 feet away from Scout, and if that isn’t enough, Drew informs her that the whole family is getting a similar letter. Even Scout’s teen brother will have a restraining order against him.

Drew says that he knows Alexis wanted custody, so he had to take whatever means necessary to prevent it. Alexis calls him a traumatic parent and says that he is going against Sam’s will, asking that the kids be raised together. Molly walks in and tries to break it up, but Drew calls Alexis a drunk, and she goes off. She slams her fist on the table and tells him that it’s going to be like he never existed because he isn’t going to be around.

After Alexis storms out, Drew tells Molly to accept the envelope when she is served.

Martin and Laura are seated at a nearby table. He has brought her up to speed on no longer working for Drew. They both agree that if anyone asks, they didn’t hear Alexis threaten Drew.

Ric Is Down for the Count

ABC

Molly stops by to see Cody at the stables and catches him kissing Ava. As she excuses herself and tries to run for the door, Cody blurts out that he did it for her. Both women are baffled as Cody explains that Kristina hired him to distract Ava to get her away from Molly’s father, Ric. Ava is furious and disgusted and leaves on a mission. As Cody explains to Molly that he genuinely thought he was helping her, she is not impressed and also leaves.

Ric arrives at Alexis’ house to find Kristina there alone. The two have a huge blowup over her cutting the brakes to his car and nearly killing him. Kristina lets Ric have it for blackmailing her mother. During their fight, she picks up a letter opener and resists the urge to stab him with it. They are interrupted by a raging Ava, who is looking for Alexis.

Ava tells Ric that Kristina hired Cody to run interference between them in the hopes of destroying their blackmail plan. Ric doesn’t care because the blackmail is over. He lays out exactly how he moved the money around so that only he has access to everything, including her divorce settlement. Ava is left with nothing and no one. As Ric starts to walk out the door, she picks up a heavy paperweight and bashes Ric in the back of the head. He falls to the ground bleeding like crazy, as Kristina looks on in shock.
