“90 Day Fiance” star Varya Malina gave fans a major update about her incarcerated fiance, Geoffrey Paschel. Those following Malina and Paschel’s love story know the couple is facing a difficult chapter, with Paschel’s prison sentence keeping them physically apart.
Despite everything, the Russian-native is not giving up on her American partner. Malina has been staying in the U.S. alone, despite her family and friends urging her to come home.
Recently, Malina seemed to have all the more reason to stay as Paschel’s case made progress.
‘90 Day Fiance’ Star Geoffrey Paschel’s Case Update
In an Instagram Stories post last month, Malina revealed she’s attending Paschel’s court day. “The 90 Day Fiance” star has been waiting for this day.
“Tomorrow is court day (nothing big),” she captioned a photo of herself looking out a window. “But keep your fingers crossed for us please.”
Another post shared on June 19 revealed things are looking up for Paschel. Malina posted a photo inside the courtroom and noted that the judge is taking the motion they filed seriously.
However, the “90 Day Fiance” alum can’t help but feel annoyed with the seemingly long wait before Paschel’s next court date.
“But it’s ridiculous that the state asked for 90 days,” Malina wrote alongside an angry emoji. “Next court is in September.”
Varya Not Giving Up on Geoffrey
Paschel, who received his sentence in October 2021, is currently serving an 18-year jail term, per In Touch. He was convicted of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interfering with emergency calls.
The “90 Day Fiancé” star still has a long road ahead in his sentence, but his fiancée remains hopeful. Malina has consistently stood by Paschel’s side, describing herself as a “hopeless optimist” when it comes to their relationship.
“Knowing the case, speaking to multiple lawyers, I am very positive of the outcome and I’m waiting for it,” Malina explained in an Instagram Stories post from 2023. “Should be soon though.”
Varya Malina Keeps Herself Busy
In the meantime, Malina is keeping herself busy to help cope with Paschel’s absence. The “90 Day Fiance” star enjoys traveling, both locally and internationally, as a way to stay distracted.
Most recently, Malina went on a cruise trip with her mother, who traveled all the way from Russia. The mother and daughter have a blast on their mini-vacation, trying out various activities on the ship.
