Taylor Swift fans facing the prospect of a “Cruel Summer” without an Eras tour stop to look forward to are celebrating a surprise drop of new Eras merchandise.
On Saturday, April 19, the superstar’s team surprised fans with a new set of merch that debuts an updated Eras design.
There are three items in the “TTPD” Eras collection- a hoodie, a crewneck sweatshirt and a black t-shirt, all showing Taylor in tour costumes from each of her “Eras.”
For the uninitiated, “TTPD” stands for “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Taylor released that album a year ago April, right in the middle of her juggernaut worldwide “Eras Tour.” Swift added songs from the album to her setlist, but the updated shirts are the first time the “TTPD” Era gets representation in Taylor’s many “eras.”
Swifties Rush to Buy Updated Eras Shirts
As soon as the new merch dropped, the clock was ticking for die-hard Swifties.
In an Instagram post on @taylornation, Swift’s team wrote, “We’re letting the #TTPDErasCollection fresh out the slammer with tortured poet Taylor for #1YearOfTSTTPD! Order your favorite pieces, and they’ll be running home to you! Available for 72 hours while supplies last at store.taylorswift.com. 💚💛💜♥️🩵🖤🩷🩶🤎💙🤍”
They may not have had long to buy, but Swifties also won’t have long to wait to get their hands on the new items.
The hoodie ($75), crewneck ($65) and t-shirt ($35) all promised to ship “on or before April 26.”
And fans were here for it, even if it meant parting with their cash.
One Swiftie commented, “my first call was to get the shirt and crewneck i’m so happy”
Another lamented, “Bestie i love you with all of my heart but my wallet is D-Y-I-N-G 😭”
Another joked, “I can do it with an empty wallet 🥲”
But many just celebrated, with comments like, “the ttpd collection is finally there in it’s glittering prime ✨🥹” and “THESE ARE SO CUTE IM OBSESSED ALSO HI NEW MERCH TEAM” and “I don’t want it, I need it 😭” and “Literally obsessed!! Had to get some merch! ❤️❤️” and even “AHHHH TAKE MY MONEYYY”
Die-Hard Swifties Say They Knew ‘Something’ Was Coming
While the new product release was a surprise, some fans swear they knew “something was coming.”
In fact, on the @taylornation post debuting the new shirts, one commented, “I KNEW SOMETHING WAS COMING”
Another wrote, “YAY!! I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN TODAY! 😍😇”
One somewhat psychic Swiftie even got emotional apparently, commenting, “I knew this would happen, now I want to cry”
Taylor Swift Has Been Laying Low After End of Eras Tour
Fans may have a lot to say, but Taylor Swift herself has been uncharacteristically quiet since the end of the Eras tour.
Swift performed her 149th and last show on the worldwide tour December 8, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.
She hasn’t put up an Instagram post since mid-January, when she put up a series of pictures from the tour with the caption,
“It was rare.
I was there.
I remember it. ♥️”
