Alison Victoria and Michel Smith Boyd may have been crowned the season six “Rock the Block” champions May 26, but competitors and fellow veterans Jonathan and Jordan Knight make the case that they’re the REAL winners.
No, it’s not sour grapes! The brothers and “New Kids on the Block” bandmates are simply celebrating how much they gained from competing together.
In fact, Jonathan Knight got emotional at the end of the season six finale, tearing up talking about how much heโs enjoyed working with younger brother Jordan in the competition. He admits Jordan made it into โNew Kids on the Blockโ first, and that Jonathan was worried Jordan was going to go off with the band โand I was going to lose him.โ
Jonathan Knight Calls ‘RTB’ an ‘Epic Journey’
After the winners were announced, Jonathan Knight said, “We didn’t win, but I’m very happy for Alison and Michel. And more importantly,” he said turning to his brother Jordan, “I’m so proud of you for sticking this out, for jumping in, getting your hands dirty, you know, helping out with the design and, you know, it’s just been an epic journey.”
Brother Jordan Knight agreed, saying, “Yeah, it was. I mean, it was so much fun doing it with him. I’ve been on stage with him for 40 years, but doing something like this with him and seeing how beautiful it came out is just so satisfying, so heartwarming to do this with you,” he said turning to his brother, who tearfully hugged him as Jordan kept talking. “To learn from you, to just do this together, man, it was so great!”
Knight Brothers Lived Together During Filming of ‘Rock the Block’
In a new post on Instagram, Jonathan writes, “Words cannot express the incredible time me and Jordan shared this season on Rock The Block. This was a collaboration that ranks very high in the things we have done together. My love for the other competitors runs high! We got really close while spending so many days together . We shared our excitement as well as our disappointmentโs all while keeping focused on winning our spaces and ultimately the competition. Cheers to all and congrats to the winners. Our work in Utah paid offโฆ Iโm so excited for the familyโs that will soon call our creations home.”
The brothers shared an apartment in Salt Lake City, Utah during the eight weeks of filming.
In an interview with Country Living, 56-year-old Jonathan said, โSince we were kids, we shared a room and clothes, then on tour, weโve always shared a bus and a dressing room, so this was the same except when it came to dinner time. Every night, the dilemma was, โWhat are we going to order for dinner? And what are we going to watch on TV?โโ
โIt was like a new adventure we went on,โ added younger brother Jordan, 55. โWeโve always done things togetherโsing in the same church choir, go to the same schools, share a bedroom, join New Kids. Doing the show was like carrying on our life together.โ
In an Instagram post in November 2024, Jonathan Knight shared pictures of their time there, writing, โSpent an amazing day with my brother. We started at Antelope Island where we saw wild bison and a pair of great horned owls. Then took a 2 hour drive to the salt flats to watch the sunset over this spectacular place. Really felt like we were on another planet. Having so much fun in Utah.โ
In an interview with boston.com, Jordan said, โSalt Lake City is beautiful. It was just an amazing experience.โ
